What happens when your trial ends
After 14 days you keep designing on Free, or pick a plan. If you have private Things, nothing changes until you choose: subscribe to keep them private, or confirm they become public.
Your trial lasts 14 days. After that there are two ways to continue: the Free plan, or a subscription. You choose, and nothing you made is ever deleted.
The Free plan
Free has no end date and needs no card. You get:
- every Maker feature except AI: sketching, organic shapes, versions and alternatives, basic drawings, 2K renders, standard simulation runs, STL, 3MF, STEP, GLB and OBJ export, publishing to the Marketplace;
- every Thing is public: Things are shared as open source, and new Things you make are public too;
- no new AI credits: credits you didn't use in the trial stay usable until they run out. After that, AI needs a subscription.
- no free generated body: the trial's free first generated 3D body is for the trial only. If you didn't use it, it doesn't carry over to Free. A generated body costs 150 credits on any plan.
Pro features (DXF, DWG and PDF drawings, 4K renders, full simulation and generative design) need Pro, as they do on Maker.
The AI buttons don't disappear on Free. When your credits are used up and you ask the agent, generate concept images, enhance a render or try variants, a short message explains that AI needs a subscription and shows the plans.
If you have private Things
Free can't keep Things private, so when your trial ends with private Things, nothing happens on its own:
- Your private Things stay private, and your account is read-only for now: you can open everything and download STL, but not edit.
- A banner and a dialog ask you to choose:
- Subscribe (Maker, Pro or Team): your private Things stay private and everything opens up again.
- Stay on Free: the dialog lists the Things that will become public. Tick I understand and confirm, and they become public.
Nothing is published until you confirm. If the trial ends while you're away, you'll see the choice the next time you sign in.
If you have no private Things, you move to Free automatically.
Changing your mind later
- Subscribe any time from Billing & plan. Yearly billing is the default and costs less than paying month to month.
- On a subscription you can make Things private again (up to your plan's private limit).
- If a paid plan ends, the same choice appears: subscribe again, or stay on Free.
Try it
Press ⌘K (or Ctrl + K), type billing, and open Billing & plan to see your plan, your credits and how many private Things you have.

Private and public Things (the open-source rule)
Your plan includes a number of private Things. The rest are public, shared as open source. What that means, how to protect confidential work, and how to avoid surprises.
